The main thrust of our campaign has been SAVING GREEN SPACE and preventing the loss of the natural environment and broader landscape. The facts about the Ranger facility (see here), whilst relevant because the general public are not aware of them, are not the basis of our argument. We are concerned with planning points ST5 and ST6. Any building, here, would permanently change the character of this flat, scenic and beautiful meadow beyond recognition.
Remarkably the proposal goes against the SSDC’s own research:
In the 2008 - 2012 Yeovil Management Plan (page 34), published by SSDC, it is stated that: ‘two requests reoccur again and again in the visitor surveys; the provision of public toilets at the Ninesprings Play Area and some sort of café facility provided on site.’ So why build on the proposed site?
